Fenwick Island, DE Vacation 2019

We just took a family vacation to Fenwick Island, DE and we even got to take the doggies.  Brian and I were so happy they were able to join us on the trip.  We went with my parents and my sisters family and rented a house only a few hundred feet from the beach.   The weather wasn't too bad either considering it was the end of April.  I made a highlight reel of our week which included relaxing, bike riding and exploring Asseteague Island.  We got to see the wild horses and it was  childhood dream come true.  I do have to mention that one of the nights we were walking the dog we witness a fireball.  The video above is only a short clip of it that my sister took but the whole thing was much longer.  The sky turned all sorts of bright colors and it almost looked like daylight it was so bright!
Even a police officer pulled over and asked what we just all saw.  He was also a little confused.  Honestly, it had to be one of the most exciting things I've ever seen.  If you go here: FIREBALL VIDEO FROM SOMEONES DASH CAM and fast forward to the one in Delaware you can see what I mean by how long it actually took to cross the sky.  There apparently another one in Germany that same night.

ANYWAYS.  I am so glad we got to do this with the dogs and they absolutely loved the ocean- though they were horrible for the 7 hour car ride.

I posted some photos below of some of my favorite parts of our vacation.

Blood Mary with crab meat and angry beans! So spicy and so good!

So many updates!

Sometimes I just don't know how to start a blog post.  I don't know how to pick up where I left off in the last one and then smoothly make a transition since some times occurs in between me posting.

I have been working on a project for some time now.  Before I purchased my iPad and started using procreate, I was painting a lot.

I came up with some sketches, photographed them and uploaded them to my computer with intentions of making a positive affirmation card deck.  I got frustrated with it.  I ended up creating a yearly planner/activity/positive affirmation book. I don't know where the idea came from- maybe from me not really wanting to create more paintings and settling on the amount that I already had.  I'm not sure where I really turned my cards into a planner but it happened.  I tried to get it printed through an online site that i have had some photo books done though and I was incredibly disappointed in the quality even after they advertised it as a notebook/planner material that they print on.  They also had these funky yellow lines that were showing up so I addressed it and they said they would reprint it because it was something that was caused by their printers.  Well, the second copy was even worse. The paper was too thin, the binding was questionable so I turned to Google.  I googled suggestions on best places to get things printed and I read numerous blogs on printing through local printers.  I found one not too far from my work and met with them.  They never reached back out to me like they said they would and I'm not one to chase people down for things I'm willing to spend money on.  I then met with the printers that we use to use for full time job.  I met with a very nice man and showed him the example I had printed online and told him what I was looking for but the small run prices were horribly expensive.

I just about gave up.

Then one day I get this phone call while I was sitting in my cubicle asking if we needed a printer.  I explained that we have an account with a larger company that is all done through our corporate office (I do have a full time job that isn't Two Dingoes) but then it hit me.... ASK HIM IF THEY DO SMALL RUNS!
So, I said our office may not need a printer, but I DO!  Do you do small runs? Can I send you my examples and can you give me prices?  He said of course they do and he would be happy to get me pricing.
After throwing together my example, sending it to him and talking on the phone I received the pricing and it was right where I needed it to be.

They printed an example book for me and I got a bit discouraged as the way things lined up didn't work out so I had to go back to the drawing board (this is all new to me so I didn't know exactly what to do when he asked me to bleed and crop the pages- youtube helped with that).  I sent in the final edit before my craft show, had some faith in myself and didn't ask for another sample (because I was hoping to have it for my first craft show) and picked it up on Friday (the day before my show).  It was PERFECT.

I can't begin to describe how incredibly happy I am with it and how much work I have put into this book.

I was a little disappointed in the customer service toward the end with the current printer but I don't care as long as they do a great job and get me my products on time!

SO IT'S HERE and available on my Etsy shop.  The calendars are blank so you can start them anytime of the year.  Which is awesome because sometimes I skip a month or start in February when things slow down.

Here are some photos :)

I didn't show the whole book because I don't want to spoil the challenges/activities that are in there but each month has the same set up.  You get two pages for your appointments/reminders/project lists etc - two pages of a blank month that you fill in, then one page of that particular month's challenge and one page that is the positive affirmation for that month.

If you think this is something you would like, please stop by my Etsy page (link at top) and pick one up- I only have about 5 left at this time.

Moving on from the planner- ;)
I had my first craft show at Animal Friends.
This was super special because our "Two Dingoes" Chance & Bear were adopted there.  So having the name and explaining why we were called that was awesome!

and... the show was AWESOME!  I didn't think we would sell as much as we did but I am so so happy that people loved my work.  I was on such a high after we left- nothing could ruin that!

I am so grateful.

After the show, we took a break.  A much needed break.  We put up the tree and decorated and then cuddled a lot.  I'm exhausted but ready to keep creating.  I feel inspired lately despite the darker, gloomy days and the long nights. So STAY TUNED!

COME BY AND SEE ME!

Yep.  I'll be there!  I still can't believe I'm doing my first craft show at the place that I adopted my little fur babies and then named my shop after them!  It feels so right!

I am crafting like crazy lately to get ready for the show and to be honest I feel like everything else is falling apart and there are so many things that need to get done- I'm about to go nuts.  Flickr...the site that I have shared photos on for years and years is doing a huge change to free accounts - I pay for my account but I have another account that I save my personal photos on and they not only upped the charge for the 2 year plan but they are offering a discount to people to stay but not to me since I have been a member for so long.  Then on top of that they charged my card that was labeled "expired" (the date was expired) without me giving the okay!  I reached out to them about it and they wrote back and told me to "make the most educated decision possible about staying with Flickr" and that they wouldn't refund me or give me the deal they are offering.

I'm seeing red right about now.  So I will live out the two years on my art account that I have now paid for, not by choice and then move all my other photos on my free account out.  Once the time has gone by - I am leaving the site that I once loved so much.  I have until January to move my free account photos.  I get so upset because I take time to organized and back up my photos online like a responsible person and then they rip the carpet out from under me while I am trying to get ready for the Holidays and my craft show... ugh.  Okay- rant over- moving on.

Lol.

So I have been doodling a lot on my iPad.  I love it.  I truly love it.  Here are some of my latest pieces of work:

I'm going to do a whole series and I will be selling some at the show!

I have also been working on a planner/activity book.  It's taking way longer than expected and I just finally found a printer willing to work with me and is in my price range that does really nice quality work.  I have to make a few more edits to do after they kindly made a sample for me and I then I will get them printed (hopefully in time for the show) and then put them on my Etsy shop too!

I cannot wait until 2019 though.  I decided yesterday to meditate and do a short spell to banish negative energies.  I am trying to finish out this year with as little bad news as possible.  This year has been one of the hardest years of my life.  I can't wait to count down to the new year- it will be a serious celebration for me!

In the meantime, my husband and I are trying to stay focused on getting outdoors as much as possible before it gets too cold and too dark to do it.  We took a nice long walk around Heartwood Acres the other day and it was just the right temperature and the sky was SO BLUE!

(this house was so cool- looks like a vampire lives there!)

I also treated myself to get my hair done.  I am going lighter and towards blonde again and it feels so good and it feels like me! :)

So - onward!
Come visit me at the show on December 1st:) Come see my things that I make!

Thanks for reading!
