Back then...

So, I was just going through some old photos to put something together for our wedding and I came across these gems of my childhood.  My dad had a pretty nice camera and scanning did not due them justice but there is some magic about film and looking back on photos that I just had to put on the blog...
Life goes SO FAST.
In a blink of an eye you will be ten years older, looking back, asking where did it all go?
Make friends with time, enjoy everyday. I know it's easier said than done and not everyone can live everyday like it's their last- but at least live each day being the best you can be!

Update- My Office

So. I started writing this yesterday and deleted the post by accident. I'm starting over. haha.  I wanted to give you an update on my office.  We have had some issues with my fur baby Chance lately.  Don't worry- he's okay and was checked out by a vet and does not have anything wrong.  He actually started to pee on our carpet in the office from separation anxiety.  We have tried everything with him. I'm not lying.  He has had thunder shirts, calming spray,   we put our clothes in his crate, we put him in a separate room, we got a second dog for him to have company!!!!  We now have him on meds and he still suffers from it.  It's so sad because whoever had him before us really hurt him and he still suffers from stress of loud noises and if you move towards him too fast or if you are talking to loud... I love him to death tho- he's my best friend and my other half.  I don't blame him for peeing when he is scare and I'm not angry- I just wish he would worry less... I should take that advice myself.

Anywho- we wanted to wait until after the wedding to rip up the carpet but since he was peeing on it basically, daily we had to get rid of it.  I would clean it up but it had already soaked through the carpet so much the padding under the carpet was ruined.  We tore it up and I am so happy we did.  We should have made time to do it sooner- it really wasn't that hard!

So- here are some before photos as a reminder:

AND NOW, AFTER:

I, again, apologize for the crappy cell photos. I really do promise to use my good camera from now on.  I want to paint that dresser and get rid of the tall cupboard and we are getting a new bookshelf/desk this week for my office from his parents! SO EXCITED!

We purchased the area rug from Kohls for 25.00 since we don't know if Chance will pee on this one too.  Eventually once we have him trained again- or calmed down, we can get a cooler rug.

OH and I'm sorry I don't have many good before photos of my vanity.  But I put new fabric on the seat and love it so much more now!  Here are the only before photos I could find, and of course, I had crap on the bench.

and here is the beauuutiful after:

Thanks for checking the update out.  I am painting my dresser next and adding new hardware and the bookshelf should be here this weekend. I'll update as soon as I am able! Thanks, if there is anyone out there that actually read this.  Thank you!

My Ukulele! I'm trying...

Before - My Office

When we first moved in I was so excited to have a second bedroom for my office (though someday I may have to give it up for a child... we will see. That's not anywhere close right now but maybe in the future) and I couldn't wait to make it my own.  Well, with the wedding planning and moving in and a lot of other priorities that came first, my office took the back burner.  This is embarrassing but I need to post the progress. I know some of these photos show all the shit I had in the room over the past year and a half but this is what happened.  I need to document it for the final after!  Also,  I am lazy as hell with my good camera lately and a lot of photos are from my cell (which I always kick myself for) and I promise I will change that soon.  I will start taking all my projects and before and after photos with my good camera from now on!

This photo was the one in the listing...that carpet...those curtains. They would have to go eventually.  We tried to do it when we first moved in but there were other rooms that needed our attention and we needed out of the apartment so it was something that was put on hold for a while...

This is the first photo of when I moved all of my "office" crap into the room.  I had my own apartment for years so I also accumulated a lot of things.  To move into a house with someone and their things made me realize that I will have to purge and it was needed. I shutter looking at this.  I had a panic attack even starting to unpack.
The next few photos are when I was trying to get settled in but again, things just had to be put on hold for a while...
My goal is to paint the walls white (they are actually a light pink), paint that dresser and change the drawer handles, get rid of the carpet, maybe do some cute wallpaper dots on two of the walls among other things...

My "office" is for my someday home business * I hope, I hope, I hope* and currently where I get ready and do my hair and makeup in the morning.  I edit my photos and have my art supplies here so I can do my crafts and scrapbook!  Hopefully, I'll be taking some more of my personal art photos here after the wedding!  I'd love to get back into it!
This is my vanity that my parents got me.  I was planning on painting it but I think I'm going to keep it the dark wood color since I am going to be getting a new desk (YIPPEEEE) next weekend!  I did however, just finish recovering the seat! I will post some afters of the fabric I picked! It looks great!

And my mess of books and photos on the right there.  I painted the crates white and moved them to the living room so I could have more space in here.  I also got rid of the plastic drawers.  They were an eyesore.  I actually put them in our storage room and the top shelf is for wrapping paper, middle is for gift bags and bottom is ribbon and other decorations for wrapping gifts.  I love it!

ICK!

This desk if finally going this upcoming weekend! I'm too excited! This thing is huge and just doesn't fit int he room no matter what- It's always blocking a window if I move it up against a wall... Well, bye, bye, bye!

So that's about it for the first round of photos- so much has already changed... I'm so happy! It's coming slowly along and it won't be done until after the wedding but at least it's moving forward! <3 Thanks for checking it out everyone!

Twenty One Pilots

So, it finally came! The concert already came and went!  I just have to say that I could see that show over and over and never, ever, become sick of it.  Twenty one pilots, I know is well known, and I can see why.  They have so many amazing, MEANINGFUL lyrics, great talent with instruments and can put on one bad ass show!  I just adore them.  I thought I was kinda obsessed before but NOW I AM FOR SURE!  It was the most amazing concert I have ever been to, ever.
I wanted to take a camera with me but I get so iffy about bringing one and having it taken away from me at the gate or it breaking or worse, getting stolen.  I decided to just use my cell phone.  The quality is terrible and I wanted to make sure I didn't film the whole time and actually enjoy the show, which I did! SO MUCH! We also stood towards the back of Stage AE which looks further than it really was on the cell recordings.
Brian said it was the best one he has ever been to as well so that made me extra happy! We danced, sang and had an amazing time! I wish I could see them again!! They are coming back in January but ticket prices are insane... I'm going to see what I can manage!

Without further ado, I present my highlight video: (again I apologize for quality!)

On a side note:

I hope to make another blog post soon. WE TORE UP THE FUGLY CARPET IN MY OFFICE TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hated that carpet and it smelled like our dogs.  It was old and the color was terrible.  Well now, it's gone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will post some before and after photos- my office is coming along slowly but it's coming along! I also put some new fabric on my vanity bench. I'll post that as well! Hopefully sometime this week!
